Russell says, "The Stratocaster I used in this painting was one of the guitars that I played for a couple of years. In fact I was playing it one afternoon and realized that it would look better in a painting than I could make it sound. Jimmi Hendrix played this type of guitar. Most of my paintings are named after songs because I put a song in my head and create images from the sound I hear in my head."
